Product Details

Each BeeWeaver Queen is grafted, reared, and selected by our experienced and talented team of beekeepers to meet BeeWeaver breeding and quality standards. Our queens are naturally mated. We do not sell virgin queens, and we do not sell queens which have not demonstrated clear signs of healthy breeding and egg laying. We also specifically select our queens not just for their disease-resistant genetic traits, but their temperament as well, to ensure a manageable hive for ourselves and our customers. Our queens come marked and clipped by standard; if you do not want your queen marked or clipped, you must indicate as such in the available notes section of your order form, and allow for some time to produce this custom request. Unclipped and unmarked queens cannot be ordered or picked up without pre-ordering.

Specifications:

BeeWeaver Queen:

  • A 3-Hole Queen cage of wood, a metal mesh screen, a cork at either end of the cage, and a block of sugar candy for sustenance in travel and installation
  • 1 mated, clipped, and marked BeeWeaver Breed queen
  • 6-8 attendant worker bees

At purchase, you will be directed to select your preferred pick up date from a calendar of available dates and times. Each date will have a firm pick up window, and instructions for pick up dates will be emailed with order confirmation information. We cannot make exceptions for custom pick up dates or times.

BeeWeaver Queens do not require regular chemical treatments for Varroa Mites. BeeWeaver Queens are bred and selected for their generational demonstration of Varroa Sensitive Hygiene behaviors and natural resistance to the diseases that Varroa carry. BeeWeaver Bees are always kept and reared without chemical intervention. BeeWeaver Bees are a mixed breed of many different varieties of bee, allowing for the most resourceful genetic behaviors to be passed through the generations, resulting in a hardy, healthy, and workable bee colony. Once the BeeWeaver Queen is installed, please allow at least four weeks for the queen to lay a new generation of disease resistant bees, and your hive should from that point forward no longer need chemical treatments if you were administering them previously.

Recommended transportation, installation, and care instructions will be provided at pick up, and can be distributed at request as well.

Once the Queen has been accepted and picked up by the customer, BeeWeaver no longer retains liability for lost or damaged bees and colonies, including in transport to the owner’s property from BeeWeaver property. We recommend that all customers take lessons and read information for the transport, installation, and care of queens and colonies before making the purchase for greatest success. To ensure protection against the unlikely case of a failed installation due to insufficient production practices from BeeWeaver, we require our customers to take photographic and/or video records of every interaction with their queen and hive, and submit those images and videos to BeeWeaver Management at management@beeweaver.com to initiate options for replacements or refunds.

Please call us at (737)230-3435 with any further questions or concerns involving your purchase, scheduling, pick up, and installation process. We are happy to help as much as possible and look forward to hearing from you!
