Queens
Queens are guaranteed to arrive alive at the address you provide to us or be alive when you pick them up at our address or other location – but we do not guarantee that a queen or queens will be successfully introduced to or will be accepted by your hive. Many factors outside our control influence queen introduction success, particularly the specific methods and apicultural techniques you employ when introducing a queen as well as the health of the hive the queen is installed in. You also agree that you will not hold BeeWeaver responsible for queen survival in your hive, or for the condition or productivity of your hive after introduction. Queens and risk of their loss become the responsibility of the customer at the time of pick up or upon delivery to the customer or customer’s address. If a shipment arrives with a dead queen then you agree to contact us within 24 hours of receiving the shipment via email. The fastest way to register the DOA shipment is via email: STORE@BEEWEAVER.COM. Please include your name and details about your shipment. Photographs of the dead or damaged shipment are required. Additionally, even if one or more attendants are dead, you agree to immediately hive or introduce the queen into a colony. Report the circumstances to us within 24 hours if the queen arrives with more than 4 attendants dead.
Packaged Bees
Prices on BeeWeaver Package Bees includes a mated Queen. Three pounds of bees contain approximately 10,000 workers. You agree that Package Bees and the risk of loss of the package and queen it contains become the responsibility of the customer at the time of pick up or delivery to the customer or customer’s address or agent. Package Bees are guaranteed to contain 3 or more pounds of bees when the package is prepared and will not have more than one inch of dead bees (when spread evenly across the bottom of the package) upon customer pickup or upon delivery to customer, customer’s address or to customer’s agent. You understand that we do not guarantee that you will be able to successfully establish a colony or “hive” the package. You agree that you will not attempt to hold us responsible for whatever may happen to your package after it is delivered to you or for the survival or productivity of the hive that you may establish from the package. If the package queen is DOA, but there are still live bees in the package, then hive the package and place the dead queen in with the bees to hold them, and we will ship you a new queen. We recommend closing the bees in with the dead queen and feed to reduce the chance of the bees leaving the hive. You agree to keep the dead queen with the bees and hive the surviving bees in the package as soon as possible in the usual fashion in any event. If a shipment arrives with all or nearly all of the bees dead or the package is damaged (with more than one inch of dead bees spread evenly across the bottom) then you agree to contact us within 24 hours of receiving the shipment by email and send us pictures of the damaged package: STORE@BEEWEAVER.COM. Please include your name and details about your shipment.

Prices on Nucs include a mated Queen, 4 frames of bees, brood, honey and/or pollen, and a feeder. You agree that Nucs become the responsibility of the customer at the time of pick up, or upon delivery to the customer, the customers address or the customer’s agent. Nucs are guaranteed to be delivered to you in good condition. You agree that we are not responsible for the subsequent success or survival of your nuc, nor for the productivity or survival of any hive you attempt to establish with the nuc. If a nuc is delivered to you dead or damaged, then you agree to contact us within 24 hours of receiving the shipment, but if any surviving brood and bees remain in the nuc, then you agree to hive whatever remains alive as soon as possible in any event . The fastest way to register the loss or damage is via email: STORE@BEEWEAVER.COM or visit our CONTACT US page. Please include your name and details about your shipment.

Mini-Bee Pacs are 10-12 worker bees shipped in a 3 hole wooden queen cage. Mini-Bee Pacs are the responsibility of the customer at the time of pick up or delivery. Mini-Bee Pacs are insured to arrive alive. Mini-Bee Pac bees can be kept alive longer if they are kept in a cool, dark place away from ants or pesticides. One small drop of water a day can also extend their life. BeeWeaver is not responsible for the lifespan of the bees once the shipment is received. The fastest way to register the loss or damage is via email: STORE@BEEWEAVER.COM or visit our CONTACT US page. Please include your name and details about your shipment.
BeeWeaver Policy for ALL Live SHIPMENTS:
You agree that we do not guarantee or represent that we will ship or deliver your order on any specific day or time. You agree that you will not refuse shipment or attempt to recover the cost of your order simply because the order is shipped or delivered to you on a date or time that is not your preferred date or time, or the date or time you indicated on your order.
If an order is shipped via US Mail or UPS then it is the customers’ responsibility to make sure the carrier does not leave the bees/queens in the heat, cold, or rain. Please contact your carrier prior to delivery to make arrangements to avoid the bees suffering from the elements. We do put your phone number, if provided, on the shipping label. Please consider alternate ship to addresses if you will not be available to accept delivery and take care of the live animals immediately.
Please note, all bee shipments are subject to delay due to weather, queen and bee production, and travel constraints, and you agree to accept the consequences of the nature of production and shipping constraints of live animals like bees, queens, swarms, nucs and hives. Before killing old queens, making splits, or leaving on a trip, then you agree to make sure your shipment is on schedule or has shipped. We will always do our best to accommodate your schedule, but you have ordered and we are delivering or shipping live animals and we all must be flexible and accepting of the vicissitudes of mother nature. You understand and agree that we are at the mercy of common carriers, UPS and the USPS and exigencies of their business, and once we place your order in their hands we have no further control of what happens to the shipment, or the conditions to which the shipment may be subjected.
All Shipments are shipped insured to be delivered alive – not for successful introduction or a guaranteed life span or productivity. The queens/bees become the responsibility of the customer at the time of pick up or delivery. If a shipment arrives dead, then you agree to contact us within 24 hours of receiving the shipment. The fastest way to register the DOA shipment is via email: STORE@BEEWEAVER.COM. Please include your name and details about your shipment, and digital photographs are very helpful.
No refunds are given for shipments that are killed or damaged in transit.
If a shipment is delivered dead, or with almost all of the bees or brood dead, then BeeWeaver will resupply the dead bees or queens via the same method (pickup or delivery) as the original order one time and one time only, at no charge to the customer. If the second shipment (the original replacement shipment) arrives dead or damaged then you agree that we have satisfied our commitment to you in full and will not be liable to you for any part of the cost of the ordered bees, queens, nucs or colonies, or the shipping. You agree to pay for any subsequent bees/queens and shipping charges. You also agree to pay for the original cost of your order, and any costs, fees or other incidental expenses we may incur if you refuse delivery of any order from us, and you agree to pay us for all expenses we may incur, including attorney’s fees or costs of arbitration if you attempt to recover any amounts you previously paid to us for any order where you refused delivery, or did not otherwise comply in all respects with the policies or procedures described in this statement and agreement.
BeeWeaver provides time of delivery estimates for all UPS and USPS shipments. The customer agrees that BeeWeaver is not responsible for a delivery delay once the shipment has been picked up by UPS or USPS. BeeWeaver does not guarantee that UPS or USPS will deliver their order in a specific time frame.
BEEWEAVER IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR SHIPPING MISTAKES FOR ORDERS THAT HAVE BEEN CHANGED OR ALTERED WITHIN 14 BUSINESS DAYS OF YOUR ORIGINALLY SCHEDULED SHIPPING OR DELIVERY DATE. WE WILL DO OUR BEST TO SHIP AS ORDERED, BUT ONCE THE SHIPPING LIST IS PRINTED AND ORDERS ARE IN PRODUCTION CHANGES ARE DIFFICULT AND THERE IS A HIGHER RISK OF MISTAKES. ALL CHANGES ARE SUBJECT TO A $10 OR 5% CHANGE FEE, WHICHEVER MAY BE GREATER.
CANCELLATION POLICY on LIVE BEES & QUEENS: 10% Cancellation Fee up to 1 month prior to pick up or shipment. 50% Cancellation Fee if within 1 month of pick up or shipment. No refund if cancelled 48 hours or less before pick up.
